British Columbia's Wildfire Management Branch is sending 41 firefighting personnel to Idaho to assist with fire suppression efforts there.

Effective at 12 noon on Wednesday, Aug. 21, campfires will remain prohibited in all areas of the Kamloops Fire Centre except the Clearwater Fire Zone.

The Kamloops Fire Centre is urging the public to abide by the current campfire prohibition or face fines and possible prosecution.

Effective at noon on Thursday, Aug. 1, all campfires will be prohibited across the Kamloops Fire Centre.
