Lumby families will have more access to affordable and quality child care as the Province invests in 103 licensed child care spaces at J.W. Inglis Elementary school.

A new bridge on Creighton Valley Road south of Lumby will ensure safe and reliable access for area residents.

Charles Bloom Secondary school is being recognized by the Province through the Minister’s Award for Innovation and Excellence in Woodlot Management for the South.

As part of the Province’s investment of more than $80 million in emergency preparedness and public safety, MLA for Vernon-Monashee Eric Foster announced $150,000 of flood protection support for the Village of Lumby, on behalf of Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness, Naomi Yamamoto.

Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $68,329 to the Village of Lumby, Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster announced.

The Province is calling on hunters in the Cherryville-Lumby area to help monitor bovine tuberculosis in wildlife by bringing the heads of white-tailed or mule deer to select locations.

Nearly 75 kilometres of roads are now repaved in the Lumby area, making local area roads smoother for residents and the travelling public.
