Seniors living with mental-health and addiction challenges in B.C. who are at risk of becoming homeless will get more help navigating vital supports thanks to ongoing funding from the Province.

Women and girls in British Columbia living with addiction challenges will benefit from continued treatment and recovery services, thanks to provincial funding.  

People living with complex mental-health and addictions challenges in New Westminster and the Tri-Cities area will have access to more supports to help them stabilize their lives and break the cycle of homelessness as the Province adds complex-care housing services for the region.

People in crisis will soon have access to new peer-assisted care teams in New Westminster and Victoria and an expanded care team on the North Shore thanks to a $1.26-million investment through Budget 2022.

The Province is renewing its commitment to Westminster House Society, which for nearly four decades has supported women and girls throughout the province living with addictions challenges on their pathway to healing and hope.

British Columbians with mental health and substance-use challenges and their families will have increased access to vital, culturally safe mental health and addictions care with the opening of a new wellness centre at the Royal Columbian Hospital.

People in assisted living residences, including supportive recovery homes, will have access to more care options and added protection as amendments to the Community Care and Assisted Living Act come into force.

To help link vulnerable seniors to vital mental health and addictions services, the Province is providing $500,000 to the Seniors Services Society to expand outreach through its existing programs and partnerships.

As part of its ongoing work to connect people to treatment and recovery services and raise awareness about addiction, the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions is providing $100,000 to Last Door Recovery Society to support the 2019 Building Recovery Capital in Canada campaign.
