Douglas College is adding a second campus in downtown New Westminster at the Anvil Centre Office Tower. The 6,132 square metre (66,000 square feet) space will support anticipated growth in student numbers over the next three to five years.

The official opening of the Aboriginal Gathering Place at the New Westminster campus of the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) marks the completion of 31 Aboriginal gathering places at all of the public post-secondary institutions in the province.

The Justice Institute of British Columbia will develop and deliver a new training program for community care licensing officers to support and improve monitoring of private and public community care facilities throughout British Columbia.

Students at Douglas College will benefit from improved and upgraded campus facilities, thanks to $661,000 in capital funding that is part of government's investment in B.C.'s post-secondary infrastructure this year.
