A temporary closure will take place at Pipi7íyekw/Joffre Lakes Park to provide time and space for members of the Líl̓wat Nation and N͛Quatqua to reconnect with the land and carry out cultural and spiritual practices.

Highway 99 remains closed at Duffey Lake Road just north of Pemberton on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, as the Ministry of Transportation and Transit staff and contractors work to clear avalanche debris from the road.

People who use transit in Pemberton will see improved service as a result of additional round trips on Route 99 Commuter.

Highway 99 south of Lillooet is expected to reopen at approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, after crews clear away two mudslides.

Francophone families in Pemberton will have a new school for K-12 students and a permanent home for École La Vallée to support existing and forecast enrolment growth.

The Lil’wat Nation and the Village of Pemberton have planted the seeds of a community forest partnership that will help grow local jobs and economic opportunities, while enhancing stewardship of local lands.
