The Lil’wat Nation and the Village of Pemberton have planted the seeds of a community forest partnership that will help grow local jobs and economic opportunities, while enhancing stewardship of local lands.

And they’re off! Local sporthorse breeder and rider and horse-training company, Dreamcatcher Meadows Sporthorse Breeding and Training Centre (DMV), is launching a project to increase awareness and sales of  B.C. bred sporthorses.

The B.C. government is providing $91,000 to two organizations to help manage invasive plants in the Sea to Sky area.

Four school districts in the region will receive a combined $90,000 in funding for the Youth Work in Trades program to boost trades training for young people.

BC Wildfire Service crews will be conducting a series of controlled pile burns in the Pemberton area in October and November to remove logging debris and reduce the risk of wildfires in the area.
