The Province is providing $4.5 million to purchase the Super 8 motel, located at 1706 Main St., for supportive housing.

Local governments in Penticton and area are receiving federal-provincial investments in critical clean water and wastewater infrastructure, announced MLA Dan Ashton of Penticton, on behalf of Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Peter Fassbender.

Students in the Okanagan Skaha School District will be prepared thanks to $22,500 in provincial funding awarded to the district, helping to connect kids with opportunities in skilled trades and tech training. 

The B.C. government has distributed $88,704 in compensation for municipal property taxes to the City of Penticton.

Students, teachers and staff at Uplands Elementary school in the Okanagan – Skaha school district will benefit from $530,000 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.          

Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $140,000 to the communities of Summerland and Peachland, Penticton MLA Dan Ashton announced.

An asphalt resurfacing project has been awarded to Peter’s Bros. Construction Ltd. of Penticton in the amount of $1.9 million to resurface 11 kilometres of Highway 97 in the Summerland area.

The green bond issued to finance Penticton Regional Hospital’s new patient care tower and parkade is one of only two issuances to date for B.C. public-private partnership projects.
