BC Timber Sales invites members of the public to review and comment until Oct. 14, 2015, on a proposed amendment to an approved Forest Stewardship Plan for operations in the Prince George Business Area.

Effective at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, open burning will once again be permitted throughout the Prince George Fire Centre’s jurisdiction.

Effective at noon on Wednesday July 22, 2015, campfires will once again be allowed throughout the Prince George Fire Centre's jurisdiction.

The campfire ban remains in effect throughout the Prince George Fire centre. This does not apply to cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes.

The Province is taking action to preserve the unique ecosystems of the Ancient Forest, home to some of the oldest trees in the country, and is calling for public input into the planning process, Minister of Jobs,Tourism and Skills Training Shirley Bond announced today. Bond was speaking on behalf of Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson.

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to 15 new wildfires that started in the Prince George Fire Centre on Wednesday, July 1.

Effective at noon Pacific Time on Thursday, July 2, 2015, Category 2 and Category 3 open fires will be prohibited in the Prince George Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

The Wildfire Management Branch is currently responding to eight new wildfires in the Prince George Fire Centre. Six of these fires are in the northeast corner of the province.

The Wildfire Management Branch is currently responding to 15 new wildfires in the Prince George Fire centre, all of which started on Thursday, June 25.

Effective at noon on Thursday, June 18, 2015, open burning will once again be permitted throughout the Prince George Fire Centre's jurisdiction.
