More graduate students will benefit from a $3.75-million scholarship fund that will spark innovation, economic growth and help recruit and retain B.C.’s brightest minds.

Students in northern B.C. will be able to earn a master of applied science in engineering degree, which is the first of its kind to be offered in B.C.’s northern region.

Indigenous students attending the College of New Caledonia (CNC) now have a culturally safe and welcoming environment to call home with the opening of the first Indigenous-specific student housing at the college.

Students in British Columbia’s North will have more opportunities to train for careers in health care or upgrade their skills, thanks to additional funding for post-secondary education and training for health professionals.

Starting this year, students at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) will be able to complete their full engineering degree close to home in the North, with a provincial investment of $3.5 million in new learning facilities.
