More graduate students will benefit from a $3.75-million scholarship fund that will spark innovation, economic growth and help recruit and retain B.C.’s brightest minds.

Students at the College of New Caledonia (CNC) are developing the practical skills that employers in the North need in a new, modern heavy mechanical trades facility.

Engineering students in Prince George now have access to a state-of-the-art research facility to create sustainable wood engineering solutions, with the opening of the Wood Innovation Research Laboratory at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC).

Students, communities and the environment will benefit from the expansion of the University of Northern British Columbia's award-winning bioenergy heating system, thanks to a $1.1-million contribution from the Government of B.C.

Students in B.C.'s thriving wood industry will be able to build on their expertise through two new master programs in engineering to be offered by UNBC at the new Wood Innovation and Design Centre (WIDC) in Prince George.
