Vulnerable and low-income people in Quesnel and Williams Lake will be better supported thanks to $100,000 in government funding for local poverty reduction strategies.

Amanda Dreager has found full-time employment with the Baker Creek Enhancement Society through a Job Creation Partnership project created to help raise awareness about the Cariboo Chilcotin shoreline.

The Baker Creek Enhancement Society is increasing awareness of the importance of Cariboo Chilcotin shorelines and providing one person with work experience, thanks to more than $11,000 in provincial funding.

The Quesnel and District Chamber of Commerce is putting on a trade show May 8-10 to benefit local economic development, and thanks to nearly $11,000 in provincial Job Creation Partnership funding, one person will get event planning and office administration work experience.

A face-to-face consultation session is happening in Quesnel as part of a comprehensive disability white paper consultation on issues facing people with disabilities in B.C.
