The B.C. government is seeking Expressions of Interest from agencies, societies and businesses for the future use of the Cottonwood Lands, located 30 kilometres east of Quesnel on the Barkerville Highway.

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) has received $150,000 from the Province under B.C.'s Skills for Jobs Blueprint to provide job skills training and retraining opportunities for workers affected by the closure of the Canfor sawmill in Quesnel.

Local business leaders, civic leaders and provincial government representatives hit the streets of Quesnel on Wednesday and Friday to visit small businesses and hear about their successes, their barriers and discuss solutions that might grow their businesses.

The Government of British Columbia, the City of Quesnel and local and regional service providers continue to work collaboratively to offer a number of programs and services to minimize the impacts of the Canfor mill closure expected the week of March 17, 2014.

A face-to-face consultation session is happening in Quesnel as part of a comprehensive disability white paper consultation on issues facing people with disabilities in B.C.

During these cold autumn nights, people often light their wood stoves or fireplaces to keep warm. But do they know where their firewood came from? Was it legally harvested?

It was a full house of key decision makers in Quesnel, gathered from the region and surrounding area to pool resources, identify action to support the community and set immediate regional economic priorities as part of the Quesnel Regional Economic Collaborative (REC).

Government funding will support community lifestyle and heritage projects in Quesnel and surrounding area.

The BC Jobs Start Here job fair will be in Quesnel on Tuesday, March 12 to connect job seekers with employers and share information on job opportunities, career trends, skills training and more.
