The Province intends to better connect communities west of Quesnel and south of Highway 16 to jobs and opportunities in the Northwest with a new crossing over the Blackwater River and improvements to service roads in the region.

Quesnel will receive $87,189 in BikeBC funding this year for the Gray Avenue Trail Connection.

The Province is moving forward with intersection improvements at Racing and Hydraulic Road on Highway 97 in Quesnel and will be seeking the public’s input into the planning and design in the months ahead.

Safety and mobility along Highway 97 between Williams Lake and Quesnel will be improved as part of the $200-million third phase of the Cariboo Connector Strategy.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is conducting a transportation study of the Highway 97 corridor through Quesnel and invites the public to attend an open house to provide input on the transportation needs of the corridor.

Road improvements totalling $9 million will get underway this spring in B.C. that will result in safer conditions in the Cariboo communities of Quesnel, Barkerville and surrounding areas.  

Improving the safety and reliability of the Highway 97 Cariboo Connector continues, with the section of four-laning between Dragon Lake Road and Quartz Road south of Quesnel now complete.

Work is now underway to resurface more than 26 kilometres of roads in the Quesnel area, providing driving improvements for local drivers, the commercial trucking industry and tourists.

Local motorists and highway travellers will see better driving conditions on Highway 97 in the Quesnel area from a new paving project and an upcoming transportation study.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has committed an additional $2.25 million over the next three years to reduce the spread of invasive species in B.C.
