Students, families and staff are one step closer to a replacement for Carson Elementary School.

Students in Quesnel are a step closer to having a new Carson Elementary school, now that a site has been purchased.

The new Quesnel Junior school has opened, giving students and families a new, modern space to learn.

A new Quesnel Junior school (QJS) will give students the 21st-century learning environment they deserve in a safe and modern facility.

Quesnel’s grade 8 and 9 students will soon be learning in a safer, more secure environment by moving to Maple Drive Junior school.

Government is continuing to support rural communities with a $636,976 investment under the Rural Education Enhancement Fund (REEF) to help the Quesnel School District keep Parkland elementary in Ten Mile Lake and Kersley elementary in Kersley open.

Students in the Quesnel School District will benefit from $1.3 million in provincial funding for school upgrade projects, classroom supplies and a new school bus.

Work clothes? Check. Books? Check. Tools? Check. A place to stay? Check. Students in the Quesnel School District are packing their bags and traveling to other B.C. communities for enhanced skills, technical, and trades training opportunities thanks to $5,000 for the school district from the Province’s Skills Training Access Grant.

Students, teachers and staff at Riverview Elementary school in the Quesnel school district will benefit from $279,400 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.  

Families in the Quesnel school district will benefit from improved transportation services thanks to $274,209 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.
