People in the North Cariboo will have better access to health care at GR Baker Memorial Hospital as construction completes on a new emergency department and intensive care unit (ICU).

Students in Quesnel are a step closer to having a new Carson Elementary school, now that a site has been purchased.

The new Quesnel Junior school has opened, giving students and families a new, modern space to learn.

Construction on Quesnel-Hydraulic Road has been completed to allow single-lane alternating traffic through the landslide zone, approximately 20 kilometres south of Quesnel.

A family ranch known for its landmark barn is being recognized with a Century Farm Award for its contributions to the Cariboo region and the B.C. farming community.  

Cellular coverage is available for the community of Wells, northwest of Barkerville, bringing safer driving conditions to that section of Highway 26 and the Jack-of-Clubs rest area.

People in Quesnel who are at risk of harm or victimization will benefit from a $45,000 grant to create a community-based team of front-line workers to deliver better, faster access to services.

Drivers are advised the intersection of Highway 97 at Juniper Road will be deactivated on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, to improve safety.
