The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is conducting a transportation study of the Highway 97 corridor through Quesnel and invites the public to attend an open house to provide input on the transportation needs of the corridor.

Building on the economic benefits and jobs created by getting to yes on major projects and provincial investments in infrastructure, Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes announced immediate investments and a long-term action plan outlined in B.C.’s rural economic development strategy that will create jobs and economic opportunities in Cariboo North.

The B.C. government has distributed $59,397 in compensation for municipal property taxes to the City of Quesnel.

Seniors in need of affordable rental housing in Quesnel will soon have access to 68 new units of affordable housing.

Students, teachers and staff at Riverview Elementary school in the Quesnel school district will benefit from $279,400 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.  

Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $441,380 in new grants to Cariboo North, MLA for Cariboo North Coralee Oakes announced.

Families in the Quesnel school district will benefit from improved transportation services thanks to $274,209 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

The B.C. government is providing clarity to businesses and individuals considering planting trees for things like carbon sequestration on land in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) – they will need to apply for permission from the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) first.
