Provincial funding of $12 million will bring approximately 80 new affordable homes for low-to moderate-income renters and adults with mental health challenges at a new housing development in Richmond.

Richmond will receive $586,250 in BikeBC funding this year for the River Drive multi-use pathway.

The provincial government is providing $33,000 to the Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver and $10,000 to the City of Richmond to help manage invasive plants in the Lower Mainland.

Students in the Richmond School District will benefit from over $2.1 million in provincial funding for school upgrade projects, classroom supplies and a new school bus, MLA John Yap announced on behalf of Education Minister Mike Bernier.

Skilled trades students in School District 38 will benefit from a three-year, $15-million investment by the B.C. government to support youth trades programs with the purchase of new trades training equipment.

The B.C. government and the Richmond School District are taking action to improve student safety and support student learning by investing $14 million to upgrade William Cook Elementary school.
