New community programs focused on seniors’ health, culture and education are part of a new initiative announced by Premier John Horgan to provide lasting recognition of historical wrongs committed by the Province of B.C. against Japanese Canadians during the Second World War.

The Government of British Columbia has selected Richmond-based Bulldog Bag Ltd. to provide paper bags to all 197 government-owned and operated BC Liquor Stores as part of a commitment to the environment and sustainable business practices.

B.C.'s latest month-long gun amnesty found its mark, with 1,801 firearms, 155 other weapons and approximately 30,700 rounds of ammunition turned in for destruction.

A total of 185 community groups, local governments and policing agencies are sharing $5.5 million to help reduce youth involvement in gangs, prevent violence against women and children, and further crime prevention.
