Through new initiatives, the Government of British Columbia is taking action to prevent plastic waste from polluting communities, shorelines and ending up in landfills.

Better, seamless mental health and substance use care for children and youth in three more school districts will support families through new integrated child and youth teams in Richmond, Coast Mountains and Okanagan-Similkameen.

Families in Richmond will soon have access to 157 new licensed child care spaces as part of the Province’s ongoing commitment to increase child care through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.  

A new state-of-the-art emergency department and intensive care unit at Richmond Hospital will bring more services and better care for people in this growing community. 

As parents return to work, the Province is making affordable, quality child care more accessible for families in Richmond by investing in 258 new licensed spaces, scheduled to open in early 2021.

Four new Canada Line trains begin service today, increasing customer capacity by 15 per cent during peak hours. The brand-new trains will provide more space, frequency and comfort to customers.
