The British Columbia government is providing $235,000 to support three community projects in Salmon Arm, announced Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development Doug Donaldson today.

Columbia Shuswap Regional District is receiving federal-provincial investment in critical clean water and wastewater infrastructure, announced Greg Kyllo, MLA for Shuswap, on behalf of Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Peter Fassbender.

Building on the economic benefits and jobs created by getting to yes on major projects and provincial investments in infrastructure, Shuswap MLA Greg Kyllo announced immediate investments and a long-term action plan outlined in B.C.’s rural economic development strategy that will create jobs and economic opportunities in Shuswap.

Students in the North Okanagan-Shuswap School District are connecting with skills and technology training development thanks to a $17,500 grant to the district from the Province’s Shoulder Tappers Program.

Students, teachers and staff at A.L. Fortune Secondary school in the North Okanagan-Shuswap school district will benefit from $196,876 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.

Families in the North-Okanagan Shuswap school district will benefit from improved transportation services, thanks to $561,925 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $32,000 to the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, Shuswap MLA Greg Kyllo announced.

The voice, cultural lectures and experiences of Secwepemc elder Mary Thomas will be preserved for future generations, while one person will get valuable work experience in digital archiving, thanks to a funding partnership between the Government of B.C. and the Voice of the Shuswap Broadcast Society (VSBS).
