Travel will be safer for all drivers along Highway 16 in northwestern B.C. as a new commercial vehicle inspection station has officially opened ahead of schedule, just east of Terrace.

Two bridges in northwestern B.C. will have rehabilitation work done this construction season, improving safety and reliability for people travelling the Highway 16 corridor.

Construction will begin this spring on a new commercial vehicle inspection station east of Terrace, which will improve safety for drivers along the highway corridor.

Government is launching a website to provide project information for drivers who will be travelling near the planned commercial vehicle inspection station three kilometres east of Terrace.

Construction crews started work this week on a project to build new deceleration and acceleration lanes on Highway 37 South near Williams Creek, which will help park visitors safely and conveniently access Lakelse Lake Provincial Park.

Construction crews will start work next week to repave two sections of the Nisga’a Highway (Highway 113), making the drive safer and smoother for people travelling along these stretches.

Starting Monday, July 27, 2020, Emil Anderson Maintenance Co. Ltd. will assume highway maintenance in the Skeena region (Service Area 26).

The roundabout at the intersection of highways 16 and 37 between Terrace and Thornhill is officially complete.
