Under the BC Rural Dividend Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing $102,014 for two projects in the Robson Valley that will support economic diversity and promote traditional skill development in the area.

The Province is transferring 185 hectares of Crown land in the Tete Jaune Cache and Valemount areas to the Simpcw First Nation, as part of accommodation for the Valemount Glacier Destination resort approval, Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development Minister Doug Donaldson has announced.

The Province has approved the new Valemount Glacier Destinations ski and sightseeing resort with the finalization and signing of a master development agreement.

The Robson Valley is receiving $300,000 from the B.C. Rural Dividend.

The Valemount Glacier Destination Resort – a potential year-round skiing and alpine resort worth $175 million – has taken another step forward with the B.C. government’s approval of the master plan.

The general public and local residents are invited to attend a drop-in open house and information session on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, to review Valemount Glacier Destinations’ master plan.

Robson Valley residents are encouraged to learn more about and comment on management plans for the Cranberry Marsh/Starratt wildlife management area at an open house:

Travellers are advised the East Canoe Forest Service Road located in the Kinbasket Reservoir area will be closed until further notice at the 27-kilometre marker starting Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.

Those interested in learning more about the Valemount Glacier Resort Interim Agreement and local and provincial government review processes are invited to attend an information session.
