A project to resurface Highway 16 from West Twin Creek to Bell Mountain Road has gone to tender.

The Province has approved the new Valemount Glacier Destinations ski and sightseeing resort with the finalization and signing of a master development agreement.

The Village of Valemount Airport will receive $27,000 in funding from the B.C. Air Access Program for airport infrastructure improvements, announced MLA for Prince George-Valemount Shirley Bond, on behalf of Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone.

The Robson Valley is receiving $300,000 from the B.C. Rural Dividend.

As British Columbia experiences some of its strongest tourism growth in years, with a record number of international visitors during the first half of the year, Valemount is receiving $54,624 from the Province’s Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) to support its tourism industry.

The Valemount Glacier Destination Resort – a potential year-round skiing and alpine resort worth $175 million – has taken another step forward with the B.C. government’s approval of the master plan.

Work is almost complete on the project to increase the clearance at two consecutive CN Rail overheads on Highway 5 at Tete Jaune Cache, about 18 kilometres north of Valemount.

Just in time for Tourism Week, the Village of Valemount is celebrating the opening of the new Cranberry Marsh boardwalk thanks in part to $291,120 in Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) funding.
