More elementary students are safer at school with the completion of the seismic replacement of Bayview Community Elementary.

The Province is helping keep people safe by creating hubs of police, dedicated prosecutors and probation officers focused on tackling repeat violent offending in every region of the province.

More than 200 units are on the way for people in Vancouver as the Province has purchased a 115-unit building at 1450 West 12th Ave. to provide supportive housing and a 95-unit building in Gastown is also set to reopen.

The Province is taking action for people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver by adding 26 homes to a permanent supportive housing plan originally proposed in 2021.

People accessing public health care in the Lower Mainland and throughout B.C. are benefiting from stable, consistent and supportive patient care as 142 workers returned to Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) employees on March 31, 2023.

The Province has provided an update about ongoing work with its partners to create a comprehensive Downtown Eastside response plan, including 330 new homes for people by the end of June.

New funding will support the BC Association of Friendship Centres to expand access, education and training opportunities for Indigenous youth in B.C. during the annual Gathering Our Voices Indigenous youth leadership conference.
