Approximately 800 more elementary students in Vancouver are learning in safer environments, now that one school has been seismically rebuilt and another seismically upgraded.

Continued investment from the Province will help young people throughout Metro Vancouver access more free mental-health and substance-use supports.

Three community leaders and two community organizations have been recognized for their work supporting crime prevention and community safety, with a focus on transformative Indigenous-led approaches.                                                       

The Province is taking steps to build safer workplaces for health-care workers and patients by introducing a new security model across all health authorities, hiring more protection services employees and expanding funding to SWITCH BC, a new organization focused on addressing workplace safety.

People accessing health care in Vancouver will benefit from more consistent, dedicated and supportive patient care as 309 housekeeping workers return to the public system as Providence Health Care (PHC) employees.

Young people throughout Greater Vancouver will have increased access to expanded, community-based mental-health and recovery programs.
