This September, every student at BX Elementary in Vernon will have a classroom space thanks to a new 10-classroom addition with room for 240 more students, eliminating the need for portables.  

Construction has begun to give hundreds of students in Vernon a more inspiring place to learn.

Cherryville elementary in the Vernon School District will continue to serve the community of Cherryville thanks to a $443,320 investment under the Rural Education Enhancement Fund (REEF).

Students at the Vernon School District will benefit from almost $1.6 million in provincial funding for a school upgrade project, classroom supplies and a new school bus, MLA Eric Foster announced on behalf of Education Minister Mike Bernier.

The world is changing and B.C. students need to be ready to adapt to the careers of tomorrow. Students in the Vernon School District will be prepared thanks to $22,500 in provincial funding awarded to the district, helping to connect kids with opportunities in skilled trades and tech training. 

Students, teachers and staff in the Vernon school district will benefit from $117,500 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.  

Families in the Vernon school district will benefit from improved transportation services, thanks to $361,094 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

Students and teachers at all schools in the Vernon School District, including Lumby, Coldstream and Cherryville, will benefit from innovative learning concepts being put into action thanks to 15 new K-12 Innovation Partnership projects.
