People in recovery in Victoria who are experiencing homelessness or leaving supportive housing will soon have a safe place to stay, with the Province, the City and the Victoria Cool Aid Society partnering to deliver recovery-oriented homes downtown.

On Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, Rentals.ca released a report indicating that rental asking prices in British Columbia lead the country in declines, down 9.6% over the past two years and 5.8% in the past year alone. Vancouver reached a 43-month low in October 2025, falling 11.4% over the past three years and declining on an annual basis for a 23rd consecutive month. In Surrey, the asking rent for a one bedroom compared to this time last year is down 12%.

More shelter spaces are available this winter than previous seasons, providing people experiencing homelessness in British Columbia with life-saving access to additional warm, safe indoor spaces as colder weather arrives.

People in northern B.C. will benefit from improved access to housing, health care, emergency services, child care and community programs, thanks to more than $5 million in funding from the Northern Healthy Communities Fund (NHCF).

The Province has tabled legislation in response to a request by the City of Vancouver to dissolve the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation.
