The British Columbia government is providing approximately $4.5 million to keep three temporary shelters open in Greater Victoria.

On March 28, the Deputy Premier and the Minister Responsible for Housing, Rich Coleman, released documents that show there has been extensive work done to secure new and innovative housing at New Jubilee House and also at 292 East Hastings Street developments. The documents confirm the projects were negotiated in a fair and above-board manner.

First-time homebuyers are taking advantage of the new BC Home Owner Mortgage and Equity Partnership program, as more than $1.1 million in loans has been conditionally approved since applications opened on Jan. 16, 2017.

PHS Community Services Society has been selected as the non-profit housing society to operate the former Super 8 hotel, which will soon provide safe and secure housing for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Victoria.
