Over 1,370 British Columbians across the province are receiving the training they need for jobs in their communities thanks to the federal and provincial partnership under the Canada Job Fund.

Together with film enthusiasts and industry supporters, the Province of British Columbia is pleased to celebrate the 22nd annual Victoria Film Festival, the largest showcase of independent films on Vancouver Island, on from Feb. 5-14, 2016.

The latest international visitor numbers show tourists were falling for B.C. in November 2015 with an 11.1% increase in visits over the same month in 2014.

January BC Job Makers feature four diverse businesses from different corners of the province: a builder of eco-friendly retaining walls from the Lower Mainland, brothers in the Okanagan who custom-make skis, a marine transport service in northwestern B.C. and a growing Vancouver Island insurance company.    

The Province has launched a new intake system for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) so it aligns with British Columbia's labour market and economic development priorities.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the provinces of British Columbia and Nova Scotia to strengthen workforce co-operation including innovation and participation in trades training in the shipbuilding and industrial marine industries.
