British Columbia’s tourism sector continues to show growth in international overnight visitors. There were an additional 52,872 more visitors in June of 2015 compared to 2014 – representing a 9.5% increase over June 2014. This brings the total number of visitors to B.C. in the January to June period up by 156,856 visitors – or 8.3% – over the same period last year.

The tourism sector is having an excellent year and it’s not surprising that many British Columbians are choosing to staycation and enjoy the spectacular tourism experiences in their own backyards.

Staycations are a great way to get out and explore your town, your region, your province.

Another step was taken today to enable government and WorkSafeBC to finalize implementation of the recommendations by Gordon Macatee in his July 2014 WorkSafeBC Review and Action Plan.

British Columbia is showing strong growth in international overnight visitors with overall numbers up by an additional 34,785 visitors or 8.3% over May 2014, and year-to-date up by 103,993 visitors or 7.8% over the same period last year.
