The Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals has approved Western High Yield Resources’ mining permit for the Record Ridge magnesium mine near Rossland.  

Jagrup Brar, Minister of Mining and Critical Minerals, has released the following statement on the successful rescue of three workers at Red Chris mine in northwestern B.C.:

The Province has fully permitted the Highland Valley Copper Mine Life Extension (HVC MLE) project west of Logan Lake.

The Tŝilhqot’in Nation, the Province and Taseko Mines Limited (Taseko) have announced the signing of the Teẑtan Biny Gagaghut’i Agreement to resolve the long-standing conflict over the “New Prosperity” mineral tenures in the Teẑtan Biny (Fish Lake) area of Tŝilhqot’in territory.

The Province is introducing new tools and guidance to support changes to B.C.’s mineral tenure system, required to address a 2023 court ruling.

A provincial statutory decision-maker has granted Barkerville Gold Mines, owned by Osisko Development Corporation, an operating permit under the Mines Act for its Cariboo Gold Mine in Wells, in east-central B.C.
