People in communities throughout British Columbia can look forward to better services and improved environmental infrastructure thanks to a $270-million partnership between the provincial and federal governments.

A new program supporting local governments to improve their development approvals process builds on the Province’s commitment to help people and communities get the homes they need built faster. 

Building on the Province’s commitment to help people and communities through the pandemic, local governments and Treaty First Nations may now apply for $100 million in grants to address the impacts of homelessness, support people and strengthen communities’ health and safety.

The Province is accepting applications from local governments, Indigenous communities and not-for-profit organizations for nearly $136 million in infrastructure grants to help communities develop resilience in response to COVID-19.

The Province is now accepting applications from local governments, community groups and First Nations for nearly $160 million in infrastructure grants to help strengthen communities throughout British Columbia.

With temperatures rising throughout the province, British Columbians are urged to take steps to prepare for the possibility of flooding.

The Province is providing enhanced relief for businesses by reducing most commercial property tax bills by an average of 25%, along with new measures to support local governments facing temporary revenue shortfalls as a result of COVID-19.
