The B.C. government is making the transition to employment easier for families with children who receive income assistance by doubling their monthly income exemption from $200 to $400 a month and increasing it from $300 to $500 a month for families who have a child with a disability.

The Government of B.C. will make child-support payments fully exempt for families receiving income and disability assistance, which translates to an additional $32 million over the next three years for these families.
