A newly released Statistics Canada report measuring the economic importance of arts, culture, heritage and sport shows that British Columbia compares very well with other Canadian jurisdictions, Community, Sport and Cultural Development Minister Coralee Oakes said.

The Government of British Columbia honours the services of Canada's veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Human and social service organizations that help British Columbians cope with challenging life situations in communities throughout the province shared approximately $66.7 million in community gaming grants during fiscal year 2014-15.

Communities in B.C. are sharing $115 million to invest in policing and community safety, services and projects.

The Government of British Columbia is providing $120,000 in funding toward an incorporation study for Salt Spring Island.

British Columbia residents attending a full-time arts degree or diploma program this fall are eligible to apply for up to $6,000 per person through the BC Arts Council's scholarship program. Professional half-day dance programs in conjunction with high school are also eligible.
