Young people from throughout British Columbia will have an opportunity again this year to participate in the Democracy in Action conference, Community, Sport and Cultural Development Minister Coralee Oakes said.

The Government of British Columbia honours the services of Canada's veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Human and social service organizations that help British Columbians cope with challenging life situations in communities throughout the province shared approximately $66.7 million in community gaming grants during fiscal year 2014-15.

Communities in B.C. are sharing $115 million to invest in policing and community safety, services and projects.

The Government of British Columbia is providing $120,000 in funding toward an incorporation study for Salt Spring Island.

British Columbia residents attending a full-time arts degree or diploma program this fall are eligible to apply for up to $6,000 per person through the BC Arts Council's scholarship program. Professional half-day dance programs in conjunction with high school are also eligible.

As part of the Government of British Columbia's ongoing efforts to ensure all British Columbians have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of sport, 46 groups will share more than $70,000 in funding through Local Sport Program Development (LSPD), Girls Only and Forever Active Bodies (FAB) 55+ grants, announced Coralee Oakes, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
