Making life better for people underpinned government’s work in the fall legislative session to tackle climate change, dig into the reasons for high gas prices and uphold the rights of Indigenous peoples in B.C.

Michelle Mungall, Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, has issued the following statement:

British Columbia’s provincewide electric vehicle charging network continues to grow with the completion of 12 charging sites and several more on the way.

With British Columbians eager to get behind the wheel of a clean energy vehicle (CEV), the government is releasing another $26.5 million and making changes to its popular CEVforBC rebate program to meet ongoing demand.

Making life better and more affordable for British Columbians, while building a strong economy, was at the core of government work inside and outside the Parliament Buildings this spring.

The Zero-Emission Vehicles Act (ZEVA), passed on May 29, 2019, means all new light-duty cars and trucks sold in the province will be clean energy vehicles by 2040, delivering on a key commitment the government made in its CleanBC plan.
