The Province is proclaiming Oct. 3-9, 2021, as Make a Will Week,  reminding British Columbians to write their will or bring an existing one up to date.

Josie Osborne, Minister of Municipal Affairs, has released the following statement to mark October 2021 as Library Month:

BC Housing and Island Health, in partnership with the City of Victoria and non-profit operators, are taking measures to support people experiencing homelessness in Victoria who are at risk from COVID-19.

Construction is getting underway on a new housing development designed for Indigenous peoples in the workforce on the Tsawout First Nation in Central Saanich.

Children and their families throughout British Columbia will continue to benefit from local literacy programs with support from the annual Raise-a-Reader campaign Sept 17-24.  

The Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) is the recipient of B.C.’s 2021 Council of the Federation Literacy Award for its leadership and focus on creating inclusive literacy programs for refugee and immigrant women and children.

B.C.’s maximum allowable rent increase amount for 2022 is being set at 1.5%, based on inflation.

Forty-three local governments throughout British Columbia are receiving grants to create more efficient development approvals processes that will help people get the homes they need built faster and support economic recovery.
