Premier John Horgan has appointed Sheila Malcolmson, MLA for Nanaimo, to the role of parliamentary secretary for environment. Premier Horgan has also made changes to the responsibilities of parliamentary secretaries for the Government of British Columbia.

Two new directors have been appointed to the BC Ferry Authority board, increasing the number of government appointees on the board from two to four, and replacing two community-at-large members.

The Government of British Columbia is doing its part to help TransLink address congestion in Metro Vancouver, through the Mayors’ Council’s 10-Year Vision, so people can spend less time in traffic and more time with their friends and family.

Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Claire Trevena has issued the following statement on the appointment of Catherine Holt as the new BC Transit board chair, and Wendal Milne as a new director, beginning in December 2017:

Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, annual bus passes will be available to people on disability assistance through a new transportation supplement.

As of Sept. 1, it is free to cross the Port Mann and Golden Ears bridges.
