People living in communities on the front lines of extreme flooding will soon have access to new tools to better prepare for floods.

The Province is providing a $500,000 grant to the Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) to help build and deepen cross-border partnerships.

The 16th round of Canada-U.S. negotiations to modernize the Columbia River Treaty took place on March 22 and 23, in Washington, D.C.

Consulting engineers have been honoured for their work to improve transportation in British Columbia, including reconnecting communities on highways damaged in 2021 flooding, improving bus service in Greater Vancouver and improving safety and traffic flow on the Lions Gate Bridge.

With snow and freezing rain in the forecast, which may cause dangerous road conditions, travel advisories are in place for many areas of B.C., including the Fraser Valley and mid- and south Vancouver Island from Thursday, Dec. 22 until Saturday, Dec. 24.
