Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, and Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, have issued the following joint statement regarding updates on the COVID-19 response in British Columbia:

Youth and their caregivers around British Columbia now have faster, easier access to mental health and substance use services and supports through the new Foundry BC app.

People facing food insecurity in B.C. will benefit from new government funding for community-based programs.

Young people with persistent and multiple barriers to employment or education, including youth directly affected by COVID-19, will have better access to services through a new employment program.

Cellular service is expanding along two B.C. highways, thanks to the Connecting British Columbia program’s record levels of investment in broadband and cellular infrastructure.

All pregnant people who are age 16+ are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccines as a priority population through B.C.’s Immunization Plan.

Five new destination and tourism infrastructure developments are underway in the Vancouver Island tourism region with support from the Province.
