British Columbia is deploying an additional group of firefighters and specialists to Northern Alberta as fire activity continues to challenge crews. Nine 20-person unit crews, two ignition specialists, 19 division supervisors, five radio operators and one agency representative will be leaving for Alberta today.

Premier Christy Clark promoted BC's green technology to Seattle area-based clean technology companies and discussed innovative ways to build the green economy with Washington State Governor Chris Gregoire during her first cross-border mission.

Bill 13, the Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act (No. 2), 2011, was introduced in the legislature today by Attorney General Barry Penner. If passed, the amendments will affect a number of provincial statutes.
