Women and children leaving violence in West Kelowna now have access to 55 new safe places, with a partnership between the Province through BC Housing and Kelowna Women’s Shelter.

The Province, through BC Housing, is partnering with Turning Points Collaborative Society, in collaboration with the City of West Kelowna, to open a new temporary shelter for people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in West Kelowna.

Forty new safe, warm beds are now available for people experiencing homelessness in West Kelowna this winter through a partnership between BC Housing, the city and the West Kelowna Shelter Society. 

Owners of qualifying specialty cars without mud flaps or fenders can now operate legally, thanks to an amendment to the Motor Vehicle Act Regulation.

Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement regarding the wildfire evacuation order issued in West Kelowna:

Work will begin this week on the final phase of repairs to the Westside Road Interchange retaining walls. Ledcor, the contractor for the Westside Road Interchange project, is starting the process to attach the finishing panels, and anticipates repairs will be complete by mid-March.

Highway 97 at Westside Road will reopen to two lanes of traffic in each direction under the Westside Road structure at 2 a.m. Wednesday, in advance of the morning commute.
