To help grow B.C.’s value-added wood sector, the Province will support the establishment of a new mass-timber production facility that will create more than 70 jobs in Williams Lake. 

Skilled trades students in the Cariboo-Chilcotin School District will benefit from a three-year, $15-million investment by the B.C. government to support youth trades programs with the purchase of new trades training equipment.

Ten mature workers in Williams Lake are receiving the training they need to re-enter the workforce, thanks to more than $86,000 from the provincial and federal governments to Horton Ventures Inc. 

Up to 299 British Columbians from rural communities will receive the training they need for local jobs, thanks to the federal-provincial partnership under the Canada-B.C. Job Fund Agreement.

School District 27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin) will receive $20,000 in funding for the Youth Work in Trades program to boost trades training for young people.
