The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is planning to conduct a series of prescribed burns west of Williams Lake until April 30, 2016, weather conditions permitting.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is planning a series of controlled burns near Chimney Lake and Felker Lake between March 16 and April 31, 2016, weather conditions permitting.

Given the current dry conditions, the Cariboo Fire Centre is encouraging the public to exercise caution with any outdoor burning activities over the weekend and into the coming weeks.

Effective at noon on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, Category 2 open fires will once again be allowed throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre’s jurisdiction due to a decreased wildfire risk in the region. Category 3 open fires remain prohibited.

Effective at noon on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, campfires will once again be allowed throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre’s jurisdiction. However, the burning of waste or slash piles is still prohibited.
