The B.C. government and the Richmond School District are taking action to improve student safety and support student learning by investing $14 million to upgrade William Cook Elementary school. 

Two passing lanes on Highway 16 are going to tender with construction anticipated to start this summer, announced Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone.

A $20,000 age-friendly grant has been provided to the District of Mackenzie to support a seniors’ housing and health services assessment.

A $20,000 age-friendly grant has been provided to the Village of Cache Creek to support the creation of an age-friendly action plan.

A $10,500 age-friendly grant has been provided to the Village of Burns Lake to support a seniors’ housing assessment project.

The Province is investing $500 million over the next four years as part of a Ministry of Health action plan to improve care for seniors across the system, including increasing direct-care hours for seniors in residential care.
