Through a new social responsibility campaign, the Province is promoting moderation and encouraging responsible alcohol consumption.

British Columbians are benefiting from the provincial government’s continued focus on improving consumer choice and convenience, increasing flexibility and reducing red tape for liquor sales and service in B.C.  

Anyone who has waited on hold for hours while trying to navigate a phone tree or had to fill out pages upon pages of forms knows about red tape. Most people have dealt with this type of frustration, and there are countless stories of how difficult it can be to access information or register for a government service.

B.C. hotels and resorts with a bar, pub or restaurant on site will soon be able to allow their guests to carry unfinished liquor from their licensed establishment directly to their rooms, a move that provides flexibility for businesses and increases convenience for British Columbians and visitors to the province.

 BC Liquor Stores showcase local products from around the province during BC Buy Local Week and throughout the rest of the year.

BC Liquor Stores is partnering with non-profit agencies throughout the province again this year in its annual Share-a-Bear program.

‘Tis the season of dinner parties, office gatherings, and holiday festivities! While it is important to enjoy the holiday season with friends and family, BC Liquor Stores throughout the province have an important message for British Columbians: Good hosts don’t let guests drink and drive.

Fancy a shave and scotch? How about a mani-pedi-champagne? New policy changes from the Province will allow all types of B.C. businesses to apply for a liquor licence, opening up possibilities for new revenue streams and diversified business services.

Liquor licence applications will be processed more efficiently thanks to upcoming changes involving local governments and First Nations.
