To help ensure optimal access to justice for British Columbians, government is undertaking a comprehensive review of legal aid service delivery models in fall 2018.

Government is introducing legislation to allow British Columbians the opportunity to vote in a confirming referendum on electoral reform, if a majority votes in this fall’s referendum to change B.C.’s voting system.

David Eby, Attorney General, has issued the following statement about B.C.’s Access to Justice Week:

The most-recent class of provincial sheriffs has graduated from the Justice Institute of B.C. (JIBC) Sheriff Academy in New Westminster.

In order to identify and accelerate real, transformative changes to the ways that Indigenous peoples interact with British Columbia’s justice system, the 10th B.C. Justice Summit was held in early June 2018.

Government is now accepting private cannabis retail store licence applications, which will allow for the sale of non-medical cannabis in the province.

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is issuing a second product call as part of a continuing effort to expand its wholesale product assortment for non-medical cannabis.
