Community and Indigenous organizations throughout B.C. are receiving funds to engage their communities, create awareness and encourage everyone to take part in the BC Demographic Survey.

British Columbia has appointed the first members of the Anti-Racism Data Committee, a key part of B.C.’s recently enacted Anti-Racism Data Act, focused on dismantling systemic racism in all provincial government programs and services.

Lisa Beare, B.C.’s Minister of Citizens’ Services, announced a commitment of as much as $9.8 million in combined federal and provincial funding that will improve internet connectivity for approximately 1,600 households in Chetwynd.

The Province, the Government of Canada, Coastal First Nations and Haida Nation are coming together to honour the passing of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and to celebrate the economic achievements unlocked through digital connectivity investments for coastal and island First Nations.
