The Province is providing nearly $6 million to the B.C. Search and Rescue Association (BCSARA) so that ground search-and-rescue (GSAR) groups can continue to have the training, equipment and resources they need to help keep people safe.

Residents of nearly 30 communities will be safer during emergencies with provincial funding for emergency operations centres that will enhance local governments’ and First Nations’ response to emergencies.

Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is now available through a new online application portal for eligible people in Savona who were affected by flash flooding on June 30, 2024.

Following a stretch of high temperatures and several heat warnings throughout the province, and with potentially challenging wildfire weather forecast, the BC Wildfire Service is implementing a campfire ban in all parts of B.C., except Haida Gwaii.
