The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development will be conducting a 22-hectare prescribed burn to help restore an ecosystem about 15 kilometres north of Deer Park, near Twobit Creek.

Alkali Resource Management Ltd. and the Esketem’c First Nation, with the assistance of the BC Wildfire Service, plan to conduct a series of prescribed burns near Mayfield Lake between Wednesday, April 25 and May 4, 2018, weather conditions permitting.

Effective at noon on Monday, April 23, 2018, Category 3 open fires were prohibited throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre and within the Tsilhqot’in (Xeni Gwet’in) Declared Title Area.
