Seniors in Delta have moved into 152 affordable homes with the opening of The Tides, the first part of a planned two-phase redevelopment, offering a vibrant community for seniors to stay connected and thrive.

On Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, Rentals.ca released a report indicating that rental asking prices in British Columbia lead the country in declines, down 9.6% over the past two years and 5.8% in the past year alone. Vancouver reached a 43-month low in October 2025, falling 11.4% over the past three years and declining on an annual basis for a 23rd consecutive month. In Surrey, the asking rent for a one bedroom compared to this time last year is down 12%.

More shelter spaces are available this winter than previous seasons, providing people experiencing homelessness in British Columbia with life-saving access to additional warm, safe indoor spaces as colder weather arrives.

Support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness on the Sunshine Coast is on the way at two properties the Province purchased in Sechelt to build new homes with supports.

People in Fruitvale will have access to 31 new, affordable rental homes with the opening of Blizzard Mountain Place.

People experiencing homelessness in Penticton will soon be better supported and have more places to stay indoors with a new partnership between the city and Province, and a new site to build temporary homes.

People living and working in Whistler soon will have access to additional rental housing, with construction underway on 125 new homes in the Cheakamus Crossing neighbourhood.

People in northern B.C. will benefit from improved access to housing, health care, emergency services, child care and community programs, thanks to more than $5 million in funding from the Northern Healthy Communities Fund (NHCF).
